Ben Garrick

Board Advisor

Ben Garrick is a board advisor at Five Crowns Capital and currently serves as a board observer for Verrex LLC. He has over 17 years of investment experience covering both the buy-side and sell-side, most recently focusing on middle market distressed debt for control investments as part of the Special Opportunities Group at Platinum Equity, LLC which he helped build starting in 2008, and as a Partner in the successor entity for the group's investments, Incline, LLC. Prior to joining Platinum, Mr. Garrick was a Principal at Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC, where he worked from 2003 through 2007 as a member of the firm's investment team managing over $5 billion in opportunities funds. Mr. Garrick focused on publicly traded and privately negotiated special opportunities, rescue financings, operational turnarounds and other distressed investments. During his tenure at Tennenbaum, he worked on transactions aggregating over $800 million of invested capital across a variety of industries. Previously, from 1999 until 2002, Mr. Garrick was an Investment Banking Analyst at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he worked in the Corporate Finance and Real Estate groups. Mr. Garrick is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Economics and a concentration in Finance.
